In the book, Sweeney Todd, how does the story end?

OK, so I've seen the film, (the version with Ray Winstone in), and he kills himself at the end, but I also saw it at the theatre, and the boy from the workhouse killed him when he discovered he was a murderer. Just wondered how it ends in the book?
