Quantum physics question about electrons in hydrogen atom...?

When you measure a superimposed wavefunction, it collapses into one state. Even though the expected energy is (g1 x E1 + g2 x E2)/2 (where g1 and g2 are the statistical weights of E1 and E2), if you measure the energy you will get either -13.6eV, or -3.4eV.
