I recently switched to Mediacom Cable, phone, internet all combined service now my fax machine will not work?

Someone told me I'm switching from og? to digital? all greek to me they gave me a modem for my computer what do I do next? Read the HP book more than Greek now???? Help I need my fax mach. for work! All help or any appreciated do you make house calls?????
